One of my favourite voices of all time is that of Maria Callas. Her voice was like noone elses, highly distinctive. Her imperfections as well as her perfections set her apart. She threw herself into her roles. Her voice was sometimes shrill, sometimes fragile…but always expressively unsurpassed.
I love hearing her talk about her art. There’s a wonderful clip on youtube of her discussing her art with Lord Harewood.
