We all over estimate the short term and under estimate the long term. That’s why I like working with clients long term. It’s only through daily exercise/practise/work/play that we become strong. If you don’t sing daily you won’t feel like a singer, but it’s very easy to remedy! That’s why it’s important to not overload yourself with goals. Write one song, work on one technique at a time. For example practise the straw exercise every day for 5 minutes on songs you’d like to sing. This will result in long term progress. If you’d saved £10wk from childhood you’d have 100K sitting in your bank. Small things make big difference if consistently repeated. If you have lessons weekly then decide fortnightly will work better you will soon just have one lesson every 6 months. I’ve seen this happen. There will be next to no progress. And you’ll feel embarrassed to come back.
