COACHING
Discover your authentic voice as a songwriter.
Learn to write songs that honour your beautiful life
There are songs that capture a moment so deeply, you can feel the road beneath you, smell the air, and taste the memory. Songs that tell a story through melody, rhythm, and breath — a life captured in a few honest lines. This is the kind of creative songwriting coaching I offer. If you’re ready to learn to write songs that reflect your unique life, you’ve found the right place.
i would love to be your Songwriting Coach
Some of us are compelled to write — to shape experience into sound, to give voice to the things that don’t speak any other way.
As your songwriting coach, my role is to help you hone your instincts and refine your craft. I guide you through creative songwriting techniques while nurturing your musicality. This work starts by listening deeply, then shapes your ideas into powerful songs that are uniquely yours.
I have a degree in music composition and my skill is to help simplify the complex. I believe in highly personalised songwriting coaching. Work that meets you where you are. No matter what your current ability.
Our songwriting lessons will help you master the essentials of song creation:
-
-
Discover who you are as a songwriter and how to uncover your unique voice.
-
Learn how to develop your songwriting process and build confidence in your creative craft.
-
Establish songwriting rituals to make music creation a consistent practice.
-
Master the structure and movement of songs: tension, release, and emotional dynamics.
-
Understand how melody, harmony, and rhythm work together to craft powerful songs.
- Accompany yourself simply with ease.
-
This work sharpens your instincts without dulling your individuality.
Client Story: Songwriting lessons london
“Embarking on my songwriting journey without any formal music education was a daunting prospect for me, but having Jennifer as my vocal coach and songwriting coach changed everything.
Within a year, I found myself playing the piano and singing songs I’d written. I play them locally at the folk/jam. I’m actually making a little EP – just for my own pleasure. My confidence has really been boosted by this work.
I’m in an exciting phase of forming a band, with plans to expand my performance horizons slowly by surely.
Pursuing music has always been a deep-ambition for me, though I doubted my ability or wasn’t even sure if I was allowed to do it!
Jennifer’s role as a coach and mentor has been instrumental in transforming my doubts into achievements.”

Songwriting: Inspiration, Perspiration & the Reality of Creative Work
Whilst I often talk about the flow of creativity, I don't want to overly romanticise the process, perspiration is often required! Anyone who has embarked on a creative endeavour knows this truth. The process can be...
When James Taylor wrote Fire and Rain, he wasn’t thinking about hooks, formulas, or what would sell.
He was speaking from a place of grief, memory, and unguarded truth.
Those lines stay with you because they were lived, not manufactured.

to carry what we cannot let go,
to reveal something honest in the space between word and melody.
