Artist Development Folder | Vocal Coach London & Online

by | Dec 30, 2023 | Artist Development for Singers

I invite my clients to create a physical folder that encapsulates their artistic journey during our time together. This folder can be shared with me via the client portal, serving as a safe and supportive space for you to express yourself freely, unfiltered, and unedited. Here, your Expressive Voice takes centre stage. I am genuinely interested in your voice, your story, and your truth, and I aim to cultivate an environment that encourages you to open up. This level of personalised support goes beyond what most vocal coaches and artist mentors can typically offer.

The Magic of Your Personal Artistic Collection

There is something magical about collating your artist universe. It can include any, all or none of the following:

  • Inspiration from the World: poems, lyrics, images, visions, outfits, or songs that inspire you.
  • Vocal Progress: filmed vocal improvisations and the songs you’re practising to receive feedback and track your progress over time.
  • Voice Exercises & Repertoire: your vocal exercises and repertoire lists. This may include insights from your singing lessons to enhance your growth.
  • Your Performances; this is a great space to share your performances with me.
  • Process Reflection: Many clients have utilised their portfolio for video or written diary entries, capturing their joys, frustrations, and everything in between. Again this is your space to use or not.

Autonomy in Your Artistic Journey

This folder is your canvas, allowing you to express your creativity in an unfiltered, unedited way. Whether you prefer regular uploads or occasional reflections, there are no rules—only total autonomy. Everyone walks a unique path, with desires and goals as varied as their voices. Whether you aim to be heard, refine your songwriting and musicality, or enhance your vocal skills through dedicated singing lessons, your journey is your own. Some may seek to boost their confidence, while others aspire to discover and hone their powerful, unique voice. The common thread uniting us all is the desire to liberate our Expressive Voice. My role as your vocal coach is to nurture this freedom, guiding you towards realising your individual potential and artistic vision.

The Importance of Documenting Your Journey

Recording your experiences, growth, dreams, and work is more than mere record-keeping; it is a powerful declaration. It says, “I take this journey seriously. I honour my voice and my unique expression in the world.” This physical manifestation of your journey serves as a reminder of the path you are called to follow and the commitment you’ve made to yourself and your art. Embrace this opportunity for artist development through vocal coaching and singing lessons, and let your voice be heard.

If you’d love support from a vocal coach and artist development mentor who values your whole creative world, I’d love to work with you — in London or online worldwide.

“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.”   ― Terence McKenna

Welcome to my space for singers and artists — a place to explore the voice, creativity, and the deeper layers of expression.
I write from my perspective as a vocal coach and artist-development mentor, sharing ideas, techniques, and reflections from inside the work.

If something here moves you, provokes you, or opens a door for your singing, you’re always welcome to reach out.
